St. John Chrysostom
In the icon, St. John Chrysostom is dressed in the full vestments of a bishop. As a teacher of the Church, he holds in his left hand the Gospel. A liturgy is attributed to him. And he wrote more works than any other Church Father, including many commentaries (i.e., on Genesis, the Gospels of Matthew and John, Acts, and all the Epistles of St. Paul). He also wrote extensive treatises, among which was On the Priesthood.
